There are a number of chemical peels on the market, and each one offers its own unique set of benefits. One particularly popular option is the VI Peel in Chicago, a product from Vitality Institute Medical Products. If you are thinking about undergoing this treatment, you have much to look forward to! Here is an overview of what a VI Peel is, how it works, and the kind of results you can expect:

VI Peel: The Basics

Like many chemical peels, a VI Peel provides powerful skin exfoliation. It also penetrates the deeper layers of skin to encourage the production of new structural proteins. One particularly appealing feature of VI products is that they contain an anesthetic, which can make the treatment process as comfortable as possible.

There are five different types of VI Peels, each of which is formulated to address specific skin concerns. The Original VI peel is a great place to start, but if you are particularly concerned about acne, skin discoloration, or signs of aging, one of the other VI products might be right for you.

The VI Peel Process

When you undergo a chemical peel in Chicago, the process will start when your practitioner cleanses your skin. Next, they’ll apply the VI Peel solution to your skin in two layers. It is normal to experience some light numbness or tingling. Once the second layer of the solution is applied, you can expect some “frost,” which means that your skin will turn white.

After 4 – 6 hours, you’ll wash off the peel. About three days later, you can expect noticeable peeling of your skin. Following your appointment,, you’ll need to take a few extra steps to care for it. Frequent moisturizing is recommended (after you wash off the peel). You should also avoid exposure to direct sunlight. Additionally, it will be important for you to apply the Post Peel Protectant provided by your med spa practitioner about 2 – 4 times a day.

To see optimum results, your practitioner might recommend that you return for multiple VI Peel appointments, spaced 4 – 6 weeks apart.

It’s worth noting that the majority of people tolerate chemical peels very well. However, some do experience side effects like itching, swelling, redness, and inflammation. In rare cases, an allergic reaction can occur.

What Kind of Results Can You Expect?

Many people have experienced remarkable results from a VI Peel, such as:

  • A reduction in pigmentation issues, such as scars and age spots
  • Fewer wrinkles and fine lines
  • A brighter complexion
  • Fewer acne breakouts

A VI Peel can be a great way to help you reach your skin goals. Talk to your med spa team to learn more about this remarkable treatment.
